LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Kim Kardashian, who rose to fame after the release of a sex tape, took to Twitter earlier this week to post, "Praying for everyone in Armenia and all around the world! #PrayForPeace."
The tweet has since received 20,005 likes and has been retweeted 5,624 times.
Despite its popularity, the ambassador of Azerbaijan, Elin Suleymanov, told Foreign Policy in a phone interview: "She's very famous and beloved by her fans, but matters of war and peace are a little too serious for a reality-TV star."I personally would be a very bad reality-TV star, so I try not to cross into areas I'm not familiar. I'm not sure Ms. Kardashian is a military or political analyst, so maybe we should all do what we do best."
Rather than accepting the sentiment, Suleymanov took what was a genuine call for prayer and walked all over it then accused her of daring to share her opinion.During his general audience, Pope Francis stated: "Jesus didn't bring hatred, he didn't bring animosity, he brought us love, a great love, an open heart for everyone, for all of us. ...
"We are all sinners, but we are all forgiven. We all have the possibility of receiving this forgiveness that is God's mercy."
Kim Kardashian may or may not have asked for forgiveness but regardless, she is still recognized as a child of God and is still allowed to pray or call others to pray whenever she wants.
If anyone should know their place, it is Ambassador Elin Suleymanov and his wildly outrageous statements.
